Taipa Northland age 6th May2007

Taipa stock and saloon’s racing has been really good and with some of our drivers racing at Kaikohe for the 2 day Easter Stampede and winning some prizes. I would like to thank Kaikohe speedway for putting on a good two days racing. I would like to also thank the jalopy grade for there entertainment as it was an awesome race to watch and with even some of the c graders joining in. Taipa had a race meet on the 22nd April and wow what awesome racing it was including a B grader getting so excited after winning a race that he actually drove up the bank. Then a few races later #82 stockcar thought that the bank was better to drive on than the track.
HAS ANYONE SEEN SOME TYRES? Well we have 2 cars #46 Kelvin Coates and #96 Matiu that keep losing their tyres. I wonder who checks there wheel nuts. I think they should check their tyres more regularly. They do manage to fix them to get out and race again.
Which way is up? Well someone needs to let   #10 Rhonda Teixieria know as when she decided to try and squeeze thru a gap and with not having enough boogie in her Nissan fairlady and ended up getting a clipping from #96 which sent Rhonda up and over twice with her landing on her roof and getting an upside down view of the track. She had a fair bit of bruising and soreness but okay and the car only suffered panel damage. Her words were after getting back into the pits was Does anyone have a car I can take out? Not literally.
FORD ESCORTS INVASION The juniors was our grade that had lots of cars and 4   were Ford escorts and wow they did really well lots of confidence coming out now and some having a little more of a go.
The Ladies C grade was good clean racing.   #8 Sheryl deWaal and #99 Raewyn Melrose (these 2 are sisters) both had their cars repaired after racing at Kaikohe nothing major though. And well done Raewyn she is finding the accelerator each time she goes out. C grade Men’s is still a very challenging and competitive grade with each and everyone giving 100% behind the wheel to get to that 1st place. It’s now a guessing game who will win.
OH NO NOT AGAIN I BEEN HERE BEFORE #25 Daniel Field was leading the pack around and giving his best shot to take the corner a little to wide and ending up at the bank, the funny thing is a few race meets ago he went wide on the same corner and lost it with hitting the bank in the exact some place it was a blast from the past. Unfortunate for him ended up in the infield.
ONLY THE LONELY We had one super #88 and it was really good to see him out there he did have some challenging times with a B grader #46 and #96 Production chasing his tail. #88 won 2 of the 3 rounds and #46 winning one.
